The "Eurostrus" African ostrich farm began operation in the fall of 1997 with the import of several families of the bird from Holland. The first phase of operation dealt with learning how to apply ranching techniques from western Europe to the conditions of Poland. We are located on a large range where we raise just under a hundred ostriches; it is here that the ostriches are hatched and raised, allowing them a free-range lifestyle where they can commune with nature and people. We strive to give our birds the most natural life possible, where they are free to behave and live as they do in the wilderness.
We concentrate our efforts on breeding, obtaining eggs from our own stock and raising them in our own nurseries. We have achieved high efficiency, and our chicks find their way to ranchers all over Poland. In addition, some of our ostriches are raised for meat.
We wish to increase awareness of these exotic birds through direct contact with them; we encourage people to interact with our ostriches, and learn about their behaviour and way of life.
Our farm is located in the beautiful surroundings of Bug River Scenery Park known as the "Green Lungs" of Poland, full of rich but often overlooked wilderness. Our immediate neighbourhood also offers outstanding scenery worth seeing.
